As a communication and branding tool, design has become more important than ever. Especially when purchasing decisions are involved. Consumers are encouraged to do business with companies they feel an affinity for. There are many elements that can help build that bond. Design aesthetics is one of them.
Consider the retail choices you would have in this example;
- You need a great new pair of shoes for an important event. The first store you walk into seems unorganized, uncoordinated, with odd color schemes and boxes randomly strewn around on uneven shelves. Though you are motivated to find a suitable pair here, it’s not even clear where you should stark looking.
- The second boutique you visit is neat, clean, and coordinated. Obviously some care has gone into the layout of the store, the training of the staff, and the product featured inside it. Most importantly, it was very easy to find the kind of shoes you were looking for quickly.

In which shop would you be more comfortable moving ahead with a purchase?
The same is very true with online websites. When your presentation is orderly, logical, elegant, and streamlined, customers are far more inclined to do business with you. Beyond a general impression, there’s a range of other subtle details that can also be leveraged to improve your online sales efforts. It goes to show how important small touches can be.

Encourage Sales Through Good Design
Design is our tool here. Graphic design is a subset of visual communication that helps convey ideas and solve problems with images, illustrations, space, and type. Your company name, logo, and website are likely to be your biggest brand assets. That logo, style, and associated colors are typically applied to a company’s related collateral and packaging to increase recognition and increase the reach of your brand.
“Design, is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But, of course, if you dig deeper, it’s how it really works.” —Steve Jobs
Honestly, since graphic design is around all of us virtually all day, every day — we don’t need to spend much time explaining it to you.
